Speaking to 2,000 college students

Happy New Year! I’m glad to be writing my first 2018 newsletter after a fun holiday/vacation season.

I’ll have some big announcements in the coming weeks but this week I want to share what happened in late December when I spoke to 2000 college-age students at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit.

I spoke for about 35 minutes and answered questions for 10–but since there were clearly a lot of still-unanswered questions I told students I’d answer all their questions in the lobby afterward.

I ended up answering questions for at least 90 minutes, which was a lot of fun. The questions were sincere and thoughtful. Students repeatedly told me that they valued that I gave them precise ideas they could use. 400 students signed up to get our digital resources!

Thanks to TPUSA for inviting me and assembling so many bright, freedom-loving people. I’m going to think about other ways to empower students in 2018.

Here’s a video of my speech. Unfortunately the first few minutes were cut off and the audio is poor until the video’s 2:45 minute mark, but they did capture much of the talk as well as the excellent Q&A that followed.
