Big news: Pierre Desrochers, one of the world’s foremost experts on human progress—its past, present, and future—has joined CIP as a Senior Fellow.
Pierre, an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Toronto, is author of numerous volumes including The Locavore’s Dilemma: In Praise of the 10,000-Mile Diet, an impassioned defense of modern, high-tech agriculture.
Anyone who has listened to our Power Hour podcast knows that I have been a fan of Pierre’s for years and if you’ve heard the episodes we’ve done with him, you know why. He just knows so much about human progress and so much about the threats to human progress. Whether he’s telling you the history of recycling or the truth about food safety or how fossil fuels have enabled us to enjoy nature, he has the facts and big-picture context to back it up.
Our first project with Pierre will be a new series of speeches on energy issues, environmental issues, manufacturing issues, and agricultural issues.
